Vern practices primarily in the areas of business planning, corporate law, commercial transactions, real estate law and aircraft transactions. He has practiced law in the Seattle area since 1948. In addition to holding many other Board memberships, he is a past co-chairman of the Parks and Open Space Committee of Forward Thrust, a past chairman of the Seattle Board of Park Commissioners, and a past director of the National Parks and Recreation Association. Vern is a Lifetime Member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA and Chancellor of St. Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral.
Education and Admissions
Vern received his A.B. from Amherst College, cum laude, in 1943 and his LL.B. from Yale Law School in 1948. He is admitted to practice in Washington; in the U.S. District Courts in Washington; in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and in the U.S. Supreme Court.
