Shata joined Riddell Williams in January 2010 and is a member of the Litigation group, the Environmental and Natural Resources group, and the Insurance Coverage and Risk Management group.

Before joining the firm, Shata served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Harriet Lansing, Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Shata was a summer associate at Riddell Williams in 2006, and, before law school, she was an honors paralegal specialist in the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice.

Education and Admissions

Shata earned her B.A. in English from Yale University in 2002 and her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, in 2007. In law school, she was a managing editor of the Minnesota Law Review, participated in the Environmental Law Moot Court, and was a student instructor in the First Year Legal Research and Writing Program.

Shata is admitted to practice in Washington.
