Joseph E. Shickich, Jr.
Principal
Joe is Chair of the Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights group, and has been practicing law since 1978. He concentrates his practice in the areas of business bankruptcy and telecommunications law. Joe has represented debtors-in-possession, creditors, creditors' committees, trustees, receivers, guarantors, licensors and licensees, lessors and lessees, and buyers in connection with software, telecommunication and technology companies, vessels, office buildings, real estate developments, ranches and farms, retailers, hotels and health care entities. He also represents telecommunication companies in mergers and acquisitions, franchising and rate regulation.
Prior to entering private practice, Joe served as the law clerk to Justice Robert F. Brachtenbach of the Washington State Supreme Court.
Education and Admissions
Joe received his B.A. in 1975 from the University of Notre Dame, magna cum laude, and his J.D. from New York University in 1978, where he was a Root Tilden Scholar. He studied at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, and is proficient in German. He is admitted to practice law in Washington and Wyoming; the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington; the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Joe is President of the Board of Directors of Northwest Seaport, a not-for-profit maritime heritage organization, and a member of the Seattle King County Maritime Heritage Task Force.
