Karl J. Quackenbush
Principal
Karl focuses his practice on IP litigation. Karl’s practice emphasizes intellectual property matters, including litigation, licensing, technology transfer and protection of intellectual property assets. He has handled several large intellectual property cases, including Apple Computer v. Microsoft and Sun Microsystems v. Microsoft. He has also represented clients in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including defense of consumer class action claims, unfair competition claims and breach of contract cases.
Education and Admissions
Karl received his J.D. from University of Washington School of Law in 1979, and his B.A. from Whitman College in 1975. He is admitted to practice in Washington State, the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Karl was chairman of the Seattle Computer Law Conference from 1990 to 1993. He is also a former trustee of the Copyright Society of the United States.
