Patrick D. McVey
Principal
Pat is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in complex litigation. The primary focus of his practice is product liability and antitrust matters. Pat has successfully represented clients in complex product liability and antitrust matters throughout the United States. He has served, and is continuing to serve, as National Counsel for a number of international and national product manufacturers of products including cranes, ladders, electrical components and industrial process controls. He has successfully defended a number of Japanese trading, manufacturing and fishing companies in cases involving the application of U.S. antitrust laws to foreign entities. He has also successfully defended foreign and domestic clients in criminal and administrative procedures initiated by the Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Product Safety Commission and other federal agencies.
In addition to his trial work, Pat also counsels clients in matters of antitrust compliance in connection with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and distribution practices. He also counsels clients with respect to risk management programs directed towards reducing exposure to product liability, warranty and other product-related claims.
Pat served as Chairman and President of Riddell Williams from 2002 - 2005.
Prior to joining Riddell Williams in 1980, Pat served as a law clerk to the Honorable Donald S. Voorhees, United States District Judge for the Western District of Washington from 1978 though 1980.
Education and Admissions
Pat received his B.A. from the University of Washington, magna cum laude, in 1974 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School, cum laude, in 1978. He is admitted to practice in Washington only.
