Douglas H. Fleming
Principal
Doug focuses his practice on product liability, technology performance antitrust law and insurance issues related to claims in these areas. Since joining Riddell Williams in 1991, Doug has participated in a wide range of complex litigation and has substantial experience in the defense of product liability disputes. He also counsels clients on product liability prevention, product safety investigations and product recalls. He has represented clients before the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and numerous international product safety agencies and has helped clients implement large national and international product recalls. He coordinates nationwide product liability defense for a major consumer electronics manufacturer and a major bicycle manufacturer, and has successfully defended manufacturers against product liability claims throughout the United States.
Doug has also handled numerous commercial and technology cases involving issues relating to technology and software performance, warranties and breach of contract. Doug serves as Co-Chair of Riddell Williams’ Technology Performance practice group.
In addition to his litigation practice, Doug counsels clients in matters of antitrust compliance in connection with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and distribution practices, including compliance with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act.
Education and Admissions
Doug received his B.A. from Pomona College, in 1987, and his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles, in 1991. He is admitted to practice in the federal and state courts in Washington and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
