Gena M. Bomotti

Gena is an Associate in the Labor and Employment Practice Group.
Gena has experience advising clients on a wide range of labor and employment issues, including compliance with federal and state anti-discrimination and harassment laws, wage/hour compliance, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act, the National Labor Relations Act, unfair competition, and trade secrets laws. Gena strives to identify practical, business oriented solutions to meet her clients' needs. Gena regularly drafts and reviews employment policies and other employment-related documents. As a litigator, Gena has represented clients in disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, workplace health and safety, and wage and hour issues. Her litigation experience also includes representing clients in alternative dispute resolution forums, such as mediation.
While in law school, Gena served as a Legal Intern for two divisions of the Washington State Attorney General's Office, volunteered at the Northwest Immigrants Rights Project, and was actively involved in numerous law student associations. Prior to law school, Gena enjoyed a career in Human Resources at the Seattle office of an international biotechnology company.
Gena is proficient in French. In her spare time, she enjoys dining out, Washington wine, yoga, reading, and traveling.
Education and Admissions
Gena received her B.A, cum laude, in Speech Communication from the University of Washington and spent a year abroad in Montpellier, France. She earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from Seattle University School of Law. While in law school, she served as Managing Editor for The Seattle Journal for Social Justice, President of the Labor & Employment Law Association, and as a Teaching Assistant for Civil Procedure.
Gena is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Washington.

Professional and Community Activities
Gena is actively involved with Washington Women Lawyers and has served on the statewide Board. Gena also serves on the planning committee for the annual Pacific Coast Labor and Employment Law Conference.
