Construction
We represent owners, lenders and other parties involved in construction projects and resulting disputes. Representative work includes:
- Defending the owner of a major hotel against claims by a general contractor for $2 million in change orders; obtained dismissal of $1.6 million in claims through summary judgment motions and settled the remainder of the case with credit for attorney fees
- Representing nonprofit owners in development of iconic facilities, including a multi-stage theater, a ten-story social services building headquarters with low income housing, an aquarium and an eight-story state-of-the-art green office building
- Representing numerous property owners in connection with disputes over defective work, lien claims and related matters
- Assisting numerous clients with land use and permitting issues
- Pursuing and defending numerous million dollar-plus claims by owners, engineers, architects and governmental entities
