Joshua M. Piper Elected Principal

Riddell Williams is proud to announce the election of Joshua M. Piper to Principal.

Josh is a member of the Corporate Transactions and Finance, Trusts, Estates and Personal Planning, and Nonprofit practice groups. His practice includes assisting companies with mergers and acquisitions, and licensing, outsourcing, and other vendor agreements. Josh also provides outside general counsel services such as entity formation, corporate governance matters, and drafting and reviewing a wide variety of contracts and agreements. Josh is experienced in the nuances of franchise law and assists franchise clients with a full range of franchise-related issues and advises on alternative methods of product and service distribution.

As a member of the firm's Trust, Estates and Personal Planning practice group, Josh works with a variety of individuals and families in personal and estate planning strategies that range from developing basic estate plans to implementing sophisticated planning techniques intended to transfer family assets and achieve a variety of family, business succession and charitable objectives.

Josh also assists nonprofits, tax-exempt organizations, and social entrepreneurs with legal issues such as formation and dissolution, application for federal tax exemption, nonprofit governance, and social venture structures like social purpose corporations. Josh received his J.D. from the University of Washington in 2006, where he was Co-Managing Editor of the Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal, Teaching Fellow for the 1L writing program, and a member of the Environmental Law Clinic. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Davis in 1999.
